ARSHTAT EJINN

River Maiden

The daughter of a Khan from a small branch of Ejinn, Arshtat originally found her way to Eorzea in search of a brother corrupted by a mysterious amulet. Now, after her brother's death, she has found peace and is content to live away from the Steppe. She currently uses her skills as a huntress and cook helping to run the Broken Horn in the Mist, a tavern and lodge for mercenaries and hunters alike. She is still very much tied to her roots, and is often found near or in the ocean near where she lives.

Appearance

Arshtat is extremely small, even by female Au Ra comparisons and it is one of the first things people meeting her tend to focus on. She is built small and petite but with well-defined curves. Despite life living near water and in the sun of Othard, Arshtat's skin has a creamy and pale complexion. Her face is delicately heart-shaped with oval eyes, usually framed with a rust-colored powder used for decoration. She often wears a serene expression. Arshtat's hair is long, nearly to the bottom of her hips. It is usually tied back in a long braid, and is naturally a deep lavender color. Her eyes are a shimmering silver with no limbal rings.

Personality

Arshtat tends to be a quiet, calm individual that is content to watch rather than take part. Living in the tribe her whole life, where much of her decisions were decided for her by her father, she has a habit of submissively following others and rarely speaking up for herself. Those who knew her in the tribe would often describe her as a gentle soul, with a passion for those she loved. Her quiet nature often also betrays her skill with a bow, and the hunt. She is fiercely loyal, and will do nearly anything necessary to see those she loves happy and healthy.

She fidgets almost constantly. Arshtat worries, almost excessively, about nearly everything, though she has been getting better. When she has had a bit too much to drink, Arshtat can get a little moody (or violent), though it is more comical than anything.

Hooks

Below is a list of hooks that might help us facilitate an IC reason for meeting. These are just suggestions, and the most common ways to get involved with this character. Have another idea or way to hook in some roleplay? Feel free to let me know.

  • Tribal Xaela: While Arshtat seems rather content in Eorzea now, she once was a proud member of a small tribe of Ejinn led by her father. She speaks fairly fluent common tongue, but is always happy to return to her roots or meet other Xaela no matter the kinship.

  • The Broken Horn: Arshtat and Madoc Parnell run a fairly successful tavern and hunting lodge in the Mist called the Broken Horn. Geared toward mercenaries and sellswords looking for work, the tavern boasts a hearty menu, alcohol, lodging, and a job board. Fellow mercenary? Looking for work? Need some food or something to drink?

  • Limsan Resident: Currently living on Vylbrand, Arshtat is frequently found swimming in the sea there or purchasing food and other such things from the city. It would not be uncommon to meet with her in the city proper, in the Mist where she lives, or the surrounding areas.

Note-worthy NPCs

  • Vaathabat Ejinn (Deceased): Arshtat's older brother, with whom she was extremely close, was killed several turns ago. Near his 28th summer, he found a mysterious amulet at the bottom of the river which seemingly drove him mad. He fled the tribe as if possessed. After finding him once again in Eorzea, Arshtat was forced to end her brother's life to set him free from the hold of a Voidsent and give him peace. She remembers him as a gentle soul with a spark that would make her smile even on the darkest of days.

  • Khuu: A young tiger that Arshtat adopted as a small cub on a recent trip to the Steppe. He is very nearly full grown, and he allows Arshtat (and only Arshtat) to ride him. She and the tiger share a bond that is not unlike mother and child. Khuu is extremely protective of her, and of Madoc, but otherwise genuinely well-behaved and allowed to roam the tavern as he pleases. He warms up to people quickly, especially if offered table scraps.

Player Characters

  • Madoc Parnell: The man who quite literally swept her off her feet shortly after coming to Eorzea. Madoc supported her and fought by her side as she searched for his brother, and remained with her even after his death. There's no one else she can say she trusts or cares for more, after all they have been through. Helping him run the Broken Horn has given her purpose again, and she is happiest at his side. She loves the fellow very deeply, and hopes they will always be a part of each other's lives.

  • Ruran Vas: While they parted ways for a time, Arshtat once worked alongside Ruran in a Voidsent-hunting company. He helped her save Madoc's life, for which she is eternally grateful. She finds him extremely kind, and wishes to help him in any way she can. He frequents the tavern, and she's always sure to spoil him as much as he will allow. He has also become one of the few people she would trust to look after Khuu should she be off on a job where the tiger cannot follow.

  • Vjrn Al-sahnin: Vjrn has become something of an older sister figure for Arshtat. The woman is a close friend of Madoc's and they share a past that Arshtat has not learned the full details of yet. However, Arshtat admires her and is admittedly grateful to have her staying with them to have some female company.

  • Istellia Montagne: An old mercenary companion of Madoc's who recently moved nearby. The woman seems strong and capable, and of course, Madoc seems to trust her. However, she needs to work on her Xaelic, though Arshtat would never think to call her on it.

Hey, I'm Hithren, and I've been doing this RP thing for about fifteen years, about fiveof them being in FFXIV. Below is some stuff you might want to know about me before engaging to make it easier on the both of us.

Disclaimer

As a general disclaimer: I suffer from major anxiety. If I do not answer or engage with you right away, please do not be offended. Sometimes I freeze up, or get discouraged.

I do not engage in ERP unless it is with close friends who I have gotten to know OOCly, and my characters have formed bonds with ICly. If you're looking for someone to satisfy such things, I'm likely not the roleplay partner for you. Don't get me wrong, I love ships and romance, but I do prefer organic development above all else.

I am not a multi-verse/AU roleplayer.

I prefer my roleplay to be lore-compliant ( within reason, we all bend a bit here and there), story/plot-driven, and mature-themed.

Accessibility

I am located in the PDT/PST timezone. At the moment I have a fluctuating schedule, so I prefer setting things up in advance rather than walk-ups. My main cast of characters are located on the Balmung server, and I do have some alts on Mateus and Goblin. I am more than happy to accommodate others via the World Visit system, however.

I predominantly roleplay in-game, and prefer this method over all others. I am open to Discord RP if that is the only way we can work something out, but I will warn in advance, I do tend to be slow to reply.
